Discover an easy and accessible hike along the Tour du Lac de Lessoc.
This itinerary is suitable for everyone and offers a loop without difficulty of about 1 hour. Between lake and forests, young and old alike will enjoy the many historical and natural attractions along this trail.
The Sarine runs through the green Intyamon valley and passes by several dams. At Lessoc for example, the dam built saw the creation of the Lac de Lessoc, whose banks are easily walked on.
Starting from Montbovon, the path joins the lakeside in a few minutes. The banks of the lake can be walked on in both directions, but it is advisable to start on the left bank and not by the passage behind the hydroelectric plant.
The trail leads through fields and forests, offering superb views of the surrounding peaks. The reflections on the artificial Lac de Lessoc animate the landscape as the seasons go by. Several benches welcome the visitor for a moment of relaxation and contemplation. Along the way, the last signs of the agro-silvicultural path running through the Intyamon can be discovered. Their information on the fauna and flora adds a playful and educational touch to this escapade.
History can also be discovered on the banks of Lac de Lessoc. For example, you can admire three bridges from different periods overlooking the river "L'Hongrin". The oldest - a stone arch bridge - dates back to 1578 when its neighbour's date from 1837 and 1990. A little further on is the covered bridge of Lessoc, built in 1667, which overlooks the former "Gorges de la Sarine".
Tip: Continue your hike to the village of Lessoc and admire the famous fountain (about 30 minutes more).
