Set out to explore La Gruyère in past centuries, visit the interior of a farm and a mountain chalet, walk through the streets of the town of Bulle in the 18th century, share the joys and sorrows of the inhabitants, and discover the relationships forged between the region and the surrounding world.
La Gruyère, itineraries and footprints is a signposted route of discovery for young and old. Spread over 1000m2, hundreds of objects and images, rich in knowledge and emotions, are presented to visitors thanks to an up-to-date, lively and dynamic vision of the regional heritage.
Reconstructions of interiors and thematic areas tell the economic, religious and social history of the inhabitants of this region between the 16th and 20th centuries: peasant rooms, mountain cheese dairy, evidence of popular piety, daily life and the pastoral cycle... Objects, costumes and documents reveal the richness of traditional culture based on the exploitation of the mountain pastures and the trade-in cheese, the famous Gruyère AOP.
Interactive stations for children, multimedia, audio-visual documents, albums to consult. Presentation of the treasures of the collections and temporary exhibitions.
The "Musée gruérien" is also the starting point for the historical tour of the town of Bulle: "Bulle à parcourir" which will help you discover the monuments and curiosities of a town rich in history.
