Fans of long descents will get their money's worth here: the Pilarda descent is a thrilling mix of diverse trails and breathtaking nature. A perfect bike adventure for beginners and leisure mountain bikers.
The start of the Pilarda descent is at the Gastlosen Express mountain station in Jaun. If you prefer the easy route, you can take the Gastlosen Express chairlift to cover the 620 metres in altitude to the mountain station in comfort. For those who want to earn their descent with an additional challenge, the starting point is the Gross Rüggli road, which leads up 6 km and 620 metres in altitude to the start. Once at the top, a breathtaking view of the mountain peaks around Jaun awaits. The descent starts on a 2 km long dirt track. This offers all riders who want to slowly approach single trail fun the opportunity to improve their bike handling and is therefore an ideal introduction to biking fun. At around the halfway point, you are in the right place for a short breather: pause, marvel at the fantastic view of the idyllic mountain village of Jaun and recharge your batteries. After a short break, continue along the tarmac road. After around 4.5 kilometres, the descent ends at the junction with Abländschenstrasse. After a further 1.5 km, this leads back to the valley station of the Gastlosen Express. Perfect for another round?
