They grow at the edge of the path, in the pastures or at the forest's edge.
Discreet, sometimes seemingly simple, wild plants have much to teach us. During this botanical walk in the mountains, at the foot of the Dent de Savigny and near the Lapé forest, we will meet some beneficial medicinal plants for the skin.
Starting from the parking lot at Schnänis (carpooling to this location from Im Fang), Cathy Roggen-Crausaz, a mountain guide, and Emanuel Roggen, a botanically passionate pharmacist, will lead you along the paths to the Pralet mountain hut. Along the way, we will learn to identify several wild plants, distinguish the useful from the toxic, and understand how some of them can help with everyday minor injuries.
To the rhythm of stories, anecdotes, and observations, we will gather some medicinal plants that will then be used to make a vulnerary balm for treating small wounds, scrapes, or skin irritations.
Upon arriving at the Pralet hut, Chantal and Pascal will welcome us at their table. We will start by sharing a picnic before moving on to the balm-making workshop. Everyone will have the opportunity to get hands-on and create their own small jar of balm to take home. We will then leisurely make our way back, pockets filled with mountain scents, botanical knowledge... and a homemade remedy.
