This attractive, easy circular walk is ideal for families. When you are at the foot of the Gruyères hill, you have splendid views across to the Moléson, the Dent de Broc and the Vanils mountain range.
Favourite route:
First of all, you go along the path that’s lined with big trees and leads to the Les Marches chapel. From there, you will have a panoramic view across the whole Marches plain.
After that, the path leads on beside the Sarine, where you will find it refreshing going along the edge of the forest after the heat of a fine summer’s day.
The mid-way point of this walk is the ancient wooden bridge called “Pont qui branle” – “The wobbly bridge” - that will take you safely across the Sarine. Don’t worry about the name!
On the way back, you may be fortunate to see a small aircraft taking off, or a glider landing. When you get back into Broc, why not have a refreshing bathe in the swimming pool?
Tip: This route also gives you two alternatives:
Alternative A: climb the Gruyères hill and imbibe the medieval atmosphere of the place.
Alternative B : go and explore the Chocolaterie Maiser Cailler (Broc chocolate factory)
