Discover an easy and accessible hike along the Tour du Lac de Lessoc.
The Tour of Lac de Lessoc is an easy loop trail of about one hour, perfect for a family outing. Easily accessible on foot from Montbovon (train station), the path is well-marked and gently sloped, making it suitable for all ages.
Between lake, forest and mountain views
The trail winds through meadows and forests, offering beautiful panoramas of the surrounding peaks. The changing reflections on the calm waters of the lake add a poetic charm to the walk. Benches and rest areas along the route are ideal for a break, a picnic, or quiet contemplation.
Nature meets learning
This trail follows the banks of the artificial Lac de Lessoc, created by the construction of a dam on the Sarine. It is recommended to start the loop on the left-hand side (avoid the path behind the hydroelectric plant).
Along the way, you’ll find the final panels of the Intyamon agroforestry trail, offering fun, educational insights into the local wildlife and plant life.
The area is also great for birdwatching, with frequent sightings of swans, ducks, and cormorants.
A walk through local history
History is also present along the lake:
- Three historic bridges cross the Hongrin River — one stone arch bridge from 1578, and two others from 1837 and 1990.
- A little further on, the covered bridge of Lessoc (1667) spans the former Sarine gorges.
