Culinary delights are very important in the canton of Fribourg. And they are celebrated, too!

The historic town of Gruyères will host the ‘Fête du Fromage’ in May, which celebrates the region’s cheesemaking heritage. Events will also include alphorn concerts, as well as demonstrations of traditional crafts like shingle-making.

It’s not just the cheese that is indulged in: at the double cream festival in Gruyères, the heavenly by-product of cheese is honoured. It takes place every two years, the next time in June 2026.

The ‘Goûts et Terroirs’ food fair during fall in Bulle is a tasty day out for food lovers.

Murten’s legendary truffle market in November,is a must for fans of this funky edible fungus.
