DAY 3 – Return to Charmey via Gros Mont
This third and final stage of the Trekking L’Aventurier brings you back to Charmey through the preserved landscapes of Gros Mont. An immersive day in the heart of wild nature, between forests, alpine meadows, and mountain valleys.
Day’s itinerary
Chalet du Soldat (1752 m) → Charmey (887 m)
via the alpine chalet trail
Immersion between ancient forest and alpine pastures
From Chalet du Soldat, the trail quickly leads into the Lapé forest, considered a primary forest where nature evolves freely in an untouched environment.
The hike continues through the Gros Mont valley, a vast alpine area renowned for its open landscapes and numerous alpine chalets. You progress in a peaceful atmosphere, surrounded by pastures and panoramic views of the surrounding peaks.
Gradually, the trail descends back to Charmey, the final destination of your adventure.
Gourmet stop along the way
Along the route, be sure to stop at the Buvette des Invuettes, a typical mountain inn nestled in the heart of the Alps.
It is the perfect place to enjoy local specialties in an authentic setting, with breathtaking views over the surrounding alpine meadows.
