The Musée gruérien offers a comprehensive overview of the region’s heritage and history through objects, costumes and works of art. The museum is currently undergoing renovation, but two guided tours are available in the town!


Arts and collections
The Tibet Museum unveils an exceptional collection of sacred Himalayan Buddhist art, the fruit of Alain Bordier’s passion. This unique place reflects his encounter with Tibet and his desire to share this spiritual heritage with the world.
The HR Giger Museum immerses visitors in the unique and fantastical world of the Swiss artist, famous for his work on the film Alien. Paintings, sculptures, furniture and film sets complemented by the famous HR Giger bar across the street.
The Musée de Charmey showcases contemporary art and regional patrimony. It is particularly renowned for its Paper Triennial and its emblematic collections.
Regional association of museums
L’Association des Musées en Gruyère, Glâne and Pays-d’Enhaut, fondée en 2008, founded in 2008, brings together a dozen regional museums to promote local treasures. Each year, a Museum’s Night invites visitors to explore these attractions in original ways.
